What do you enjoy most about being a project manager: The collaboration with the design team and subcontractors when hurdles arise to keep the job moving forward and on track. This job is never short of situations that require creative thinking and group experience to overcome. The only consistent part of the PM world is that no day will be the same. Â
Favorite JHC project and why:  Being Project Manager and Superintendent on Arcadia Senior Living. Not only was the project successful, but I got the opportunity to train and pass my knowledge on to an up-and-coming employee who has gone on to thrive with JHC and become a good friend.
Most challenging JHC project and why:  Every project has its challenging points, whether it’s soils, tight sites, preexisting conditions on remodels, or even as simple as changing accent colors after you ‘think’ you are done.. It makes it fun to solve and find an amicable solution. I think any PM would agree: If it was easy, everyone would do.

Interesting fact about Carter:  I went to College to not be in construction as growing up in AZ I worked for my Dad as his laborer on custom home sites and wanted nothing to do with it. 4 years post-graduation I was begging to get back in the field and moved to OR to do so and 20 years later I am loving it.Â

Interesting fact:  My favorite place to visit is Charleston, South Carolina. Growing up in Columbia, SC I've always had a special place in my heart for Charleston. The buildings and cobblestone roads and history dating back to the 17th century before the USA was even a country and the modern foodie city that it has become make for a unique blend. Charleston has southern charm and a slow pace with warm sunny weather, good eats and world class golf make it hard to beat for places to be.
